Erin + Jean De Dieu Nduwayo
His Church Burundi
Erin has been an Edge Church member since the church started. God called her to ministry in East Africa. Jean De Dieu and Erin met in Rwanda through a mutual friend. They married and Erin joined Jean De Dieu in Burundi at HIS Church, where he is the pastor.
The capital “C” Church in Burundi struggles with legalism and there is a need for people to understand the Gospel (which is a gift of grace received by faith alone) and knowing the Word of God. Burundi is a country where there has been a long war and is a developing country. Due to the long war, the Burundian population is primarily young people.
The mission of HIS Church is to see lives be changed and the world changed through the transforming power of Jesus Christ. HIS Church Bujumbura is carrying out this mission through various activities. Along with weekly Sunday services where the Word of God is taught, there are Bible School Classes, weekly youth services, dance groups (hip-hop), singing groups (worship, rap), drama team and Children’s Sunday School. In many of the activities, media is used in a way that will touch and reach the young generation. In the next few years, HIS Church Bujumbura hopes to conduct more Evangelical Outreaches to share the Gospel in the surrounding communities.
