Prayer | the heart of God
Advent is what we call the season leading up to Christmas. The word literally means "the arrival of a notable person, thing, or event." Advent is a time of preparation, celebrated each year during the weeks leading up to December 25. It's a time during which we anticipate the fulfillment of God's promise that he would provide a way for us to come back to him: Jesus. The King of Kings, born in utter poverty. Fully God, in the humble flesh of a man. The Light of the World, come to pierce the darkness. Jesus testifies to his identity and purpose in John 8:12.
I am the light of the world, he says. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
John 8:12
Let there be light
During the next 4 weeks, we are going on a journey in 4 acts: Candlelight, Nightlight, Starlight, and Spotlight (our Christmas Sunday).
Follow each week as members of our community share words, sights, and sounds of light here on the website.
Refresh your spirit, soul, and mind by stealing away from the busyness of life to seek God's presence and listen for his voice.
Respond with what God is speaking to you about each week's theme by posting on social media and using our series hashtag: #edgeadvent2015.
