We meet in house churches on second and fourth Sundays
Why house church?
Large church gatherings
Large church gives a recurring space for corporate worship, teaching the Word, and praying together. Our posture generally faces forward as we collectively worship, and learn what God has to speak to us. We believe this is right and good!
House church gatherings
House church gives us a recurring space for each person to share, minister to one another, pray for, and encourage one other toward Jesus. Our posture here faces each other. And we believe this is right and good!
What is a house church?
WORSHIP IS WHAT YOU OFFER TO THE LORD. At house church, ALL OF THESE ARE OUR OFFERINGS.
Food
Bring something to share and eat together.
Celebrations
Is there someone to celebrate? A birthday, anniversary, or milestone? Pray over them!
Testimony
Do you have a story to share of God’s love, goodness and hand in your life? Take time to remember and tell how God has shown His love, power, sovereignty, or any of His other attributes. Share how you have taken a next “step” since the last gathering.
Communion
We’ll take time to remind ourselves of the reason we gather together: Jesus is our why, the one we follow, and the tie that binds us together.
Read the Scripture together:Matthew 26:26-29Mark 14:22-25Luke 22:14-20John 6:53-581 Corinthians 11:23-26 (or to 32)
We’ll pray and partake of the elements together, thank the Lord and ask the Spirit to help us listen and follow.
Recap of teaching
We’ll re-read the main text we’re studying and discuss with guided questions. We’ll hear first from any kids present! Depending on age group, we dismiss younger children to designated areas to continue conversation with adults. Share the next step you’ll take in response to the teaching.
Sharing needs
We’ll ask about physical needs and if necessary, share those with the deacon team.
Prayer
Share prayer requests. Take time to pray with and for each other.
Remember this is a gathering of the family
We need one another. The aim is for everyone, as much as possible, to be acknowledged, included and encouraged. And that will be messy, noisy, and even (gasp) unplanned at times! We invite every person including children of all ages to share what the Holy Spirit wants to do in and through each of us.
