Advent is what we call the season leading up to Christmas. The word literally means “the arrival of a notable person, thing, or event.” This is a time of preparation, celebrated each year during the weeks leading up to December 25. It's a time during which the people of God anticipate the fulfillment of his promise: that he would provide a way for us to come back to him. That he would send his son into the world. Jesus—the King of Kings, born in utter poverty. Fully God, in the humble flesh of a man. The one of whom John the Baptist exclaimed, Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

Behold

As we explore this Advent season together, we encourage you to not just follow along but participate in what God is doing. Each of us is set as a light for those around us to see. During advent, we can invite others to behold Jesus, maybe even for the first time.
