Aurora, IL is nicknamed “The City of Lights”. Though a suburb of Chicago, it is the second largest city in the state of Illinois with an estimated population in 2008 of 171,782. Aurora is vast, extending into four counties. It has six school districts and seven townships covered within the city limits. It is home to the famed Paramount Theatre and the Hollywood Casino. Aurora is also a diverse city; racially, economically & academically. It has a rich & proud history, a city that has been built on the hard work of individuals and families.

In spite of its rich heritage, Aurora is also a city, like most, with a great many needs. Broken homes, addictions, poverty, homelessness, dropouts, gangs & crime still litter the landscape of this city. And where darkness thrives, God desires for His redemptive light to shine. This is why we’re here in Aurora, because God has made us as His followers the “light of the world”, & we believe that God intends for His light to shine through us.

We at The Edge know that God has called us to this place, to these people for such a time as this. We believe that the Spirit of God is on the move in Aurora & that God desires for this place to truly live out its nickname as “The City of Lights” as it is filled with the light & love of Jesus.

The Edge Church is excited to call Aurora home. We feel blessed to have opportunities to work alongside community leaders, businesses, organizations and other area church’s in an effort to serve individuals and families in and around Aurora. In our coming, we believe that by the grace of God we will see transformation occur in people’s lives and in our city spiritually, physically, emotionally, relationally and economically through the love, power and truth of Jesus Christ for His glory. We believe that “The City of Lights” is about to shine a whole lot brighter!
